Join us for our first ever Book Swap on February 11 from Noon until 2:00 pm.

Please use the following guidelines:

Limit to no more than 25 titles

Books must be in excellent condition

No highlighting or underlining

Current Fiction

Non-fiction only current events, timeless subjects, biography or memior

No Harlequin or Reader's Digest condensed books

No library discards

Please call (269-792-2891) or come in to sign up. There is limited space so sign up today.

Unswapped books may be donated to the library's book sale.


GRWC-Gun Lake's Annual Essay Contest for children Kindergarten thru 12th grade

Topic:  What is my responsibility to help stop bullying?

 

Students in Martin, Delton, Middleville, and Wayland School Districts may enter.  Public, private and home-schooled students may participate.  Groups such as scouts or Sunday school classes may tackle the topic as long as children write individual essays.  A winner will be chosen for K-3, 4-5,6-8, and 9-12 grades.  Each will receive a $20 certificate to purchase books and recognition in newspapers and local libraries.

 

Submit essays by March 22, 2012

 

Turn essays in to Martin Public Library, Delton Library, Thornapple Kellogg Library or the Henika District Library in Wayland.

 

Put the following on the essay:

  1. Name
  2. Age
  3. Grade
  4. School or Organization
  5. Teacher or involved adult
  6. Home Address
  7. Telephone Number

Limit 250 words, type if possible.  Younger children may submit a picture but some text is required.
