REFER A FRIEND!

September is Library Card Sign Up Month! We’re celebrating with a brand-new referral program! Current cardholders can stop in from now through September to pick up referral cards to share with friends and family. When someone brings in your referral card and signs up for a Henika District Library card, they'll receive library swag—and you'll be entered into a drawing for either a $50 gift card to OpenRoad Brewery, Hardings, or Gun Lake Casino Resort! New cardholders will receive their own referral cards to keep the fun going. Entries must be received by September 30th at 8:00 p.m.

Are you a City of Wayland resident who’s passionate about libraries and community service? We're currently accepting applications for an open seat for a City representative on the Henika District Library Board! No specific experience necessary.

The Library Board plays a vital role in shaping the future of our library—adopting policies, overseeing finances, and ensuring that Henika continues to offer excellent services to our community. Board members are entrusted with the responsibility of keeping the library running smoothly and securing the funding needed to thrive.

The Board meets once a month on the second Tuesday at 6:30 PM at the library. Meetings are open to the public, and dates/times are set annually.

If you care about literacy, lifelong learning, and helping guide one of our most important community resources, we encourage you to apply! Copies of the application are available at the Library’s circulation desk and at henikalibrary.org/library-board

At the behest of the City of Wayland, please return the completed form to Henika District Library or email it to cierra@henikalibrary.org by end of day on September 2nd. The City and the library board will review applications and reach out for more information if necessary.
